History
BAS CPA Firm was established in 2008 on the premise of providing quality tax, accounting and financial reporting services to individuals, businesses and not-for-profit clients on a personal level that help them to operate more effectively and efficiently in order to prosper and grow. Since it's inception in 2008, the firm has successfully supported clients within the United States and abroad. It’s rewarding to help clients solve their problems and be a valued resource to a broad and diverse community of businesses and individuals.
Business Leadership
BAS CPA Firm's operations are led by Karen Crosswhite, CPA. Ms. Crosswhite's tax, accounting and business advisory experience with international corporations, U.S. businesses, and not-for-profit organizations underlies the firm’s support of accounting, financial reporting, tax and assurance needs for clients within the U.S. and abroad.
Prior to BAS CPA Firm, Ms. Crosswhite worked in three of the four leading U.S. accounting firms: Ernst & Young, Deloitte and PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC). Working with these firms, she led accounting, audit and international tax practice engagements for clients including Marriott Corporation, Watson Wyatt, Rosetta Stone, PRA Health Sciences, Linear Tech, Nextel International, eBay, E-Trade, MARS Corporation, Airbus and Fannie Mae.

The firm is an active member of the Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants (VSCPA) and the American Society of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) with an emphasis on public accounting, tax and financial reporting for individuals, businesses and Not-for-Profit organizations. Licensed CPA firm members of the VSCPA and AICPA are widely recognized for expertise in the fields of accountancy and finance.
